About the Book

Kaye Pattinson was born and still resides in the lovely island of Tasmania, an island off the coast of Australia. She has always loved reading stories to children and is now really thrilled to be able to read her own books to them. She and the illustrator, Belinda Noble have been friends for years. Belinda is now a wonderful bird illustrator. They both are married and have 1 daughter each. This story was written for Belinda’s daughter and Kaye hopes to write more in the Little Possum series.

About the Author

Kaye Pattinson was born in 1950 in the beautiful island of Tasmania, where she still lives. Her father was the local barber and school bus driver and her mother a school teacher, as a consequence of which, she and her 7 siblings grew up with great appreciation for art, music (especially singing) and the written word. She loves words and the wonderful images they invoke and thinks communication is one of the loveliest gifts God gave us. She loves to play the piano and paint when she gets the time. Kaye married Michael in 1987 and has one daughter, Chelsea, for whom this story was initially written. She has worked as a medical receptionist for 30 years. “Little Possum” was knocked back by publishers initially so was shelved for 18 years but has once again seen the light of day. Now she has got started again. Kaye hopes to continue writing. Belinda Noble has spent her life in Tasmania , growing up on the beautiful Tasman peninsula. She demonstrated a remarkable talent for painting at a very early age. This was encouraged by her very supportive parents and the Illustrations for “Little Possum” were done when Belinda was only 15 years old! She no longer does book illustration but during 18 years since “Little Possum” was done she has focused mainly on painting birds and has become a very well known and respected member of the art community in Australia. She paints under her maiden name. Belinda is very happily married to Barry and has one lovely infant daughter, Lucy.
