About the Author

Stan Billing, alias poeta de Cabra was born in Naracoorte South Australia in 1958. Has lived and worked there eversince. A ratbag at school who hated teachers and the education system. Had the brains but too silly to use them. Left school at 15 and started work. Over the years have had many jobs from serving petrol to boner and slicer in an abbotoir. Managed a hotel bottleshop, worked as a butcher and worked in bars and vineyards. Discovered my desire for writing poetry quite by accident. As I am a real practical joker and joke teller, I find it easy to add humor to my poems. Some people may even call me crazy I guess. As my name is Billing, I was given the name Billygoat at a very young age. As the people got lazier, they left the Billy off and then became a Goat. Nearly everyone who knows me now call me Goat. Thus the name poeta de cabra comes from my name, it means Poet Goat. I hope you enjoy my humor and may you have many laughs.
