About the Book

This work is about nature, love, my country and a host of subjects around these themes. The first poem in the book, Beltane, came to me in a flash, as if from nowhere, along with a few lines of Beowulf. All other poems I have written since, had to be created with serious thought and hard work. But nevertheless, I have created these works of poetry to be representative of all types of poetry, on all subjects and forms. I hope you will find these poems refeshing and inspirational.

About the Author

The author was born in what was then Monmouthshire, in the West of England, now Gwent in Wales. He has a lifelong interest in music, and plays violin and guitar, and has tried being a composer. His career was not to be in music, but despite qualificatuons in Business Studies and Computing, all that was available was temporary manual labour. It was during a period of unemployment, that he decided to do a course in creating writing, which included poetry, and after having read “The Ode Less Travelled”, by Stephen Fry, he began to write poetry in earnest.
