About the Book

Eli Wilmott is a blue water sailor who makes a decent living as a sax player in New York's jazz clubs.  At the scene of an auto accident in Harlem, he saves the life of James Bly, an international real estate developer.  Bly invites him home and Eli falls hard for his wife, Diane, a scheming beauty with seductive intelligence.  She convinces Eli her husband is in financial trouble and might be planning to kill her for the money she inherited from her family

The three cruise to Bermuda aboard the couple's sailing yacht and during Eli's off-watch, Diane disappears.  Believing Bly has drowned her, Eli throws him overboard and searches for Diane throughout the night.  She mysteriously appears aboard, alive and well.  On reaching land, he discovers she has little money of her own and will inherit her husband's vast estate.

Unbeknown to the lovers, local fishermen have rescued Bly.  Recuperating under a false name in a Bermuda hospital, he plans his reign of terror.
