About the Book

The adults are disappearing fast, every adult. Disrupting they call it. The year is 2059 and Creekside School fifth graders Katy, Allison and the saxophone-playing Andrew,  must find a mysterious computer, a computer with a name, "Grail". Only Grail can tell the truth about the missing adults.

Set in the San Francisco Bay area, the threesome adopts a German Shepherd named Kiri, then face a gang of older teenagers, a pack of wild dogs, and hungry animals released from the public zoo. The Creekside kids learn to drive cars in the deserted streets and how to sail a boat near the collapsed Golden Gate Bridge. Then, nearing the end of their journey, they meet the mysterious "Redeyes."  The monk Isha might have the answers, but he won't talk.

About the Author

Philip Neff is a retired public school teacher from Marin County, California. In his early years he was a lawyer. Grail Quest is his first book and was inspired by actual students in a fifth grade class. "Over the years I have read Grail Quest to each of my classes. They loved it and were always full of suggestions. The story grew with the students ideas." Mr. Neff has two grown children, Russell and Eric, and three grandchildren, Lacy, Bynman and Philip. He lives with his wife Mary, a business executive, in Orinda, California. When he isn't writing, he is playing on his computer, making digital films, kayaking or SCUBA diving. Dedication
