About the Book
After the murder of his father, Duncan sets out to find his father’s killer, who escaped with two of the last remaining treasures of the lost Demloc Dynasty in which Duncan’s father was the heir-apparent. Aided by a magician and accompanied by an orphaned boy, he tracks the psychopathic killer all over the known world.
When he catches up to the villain, he finds him in fierce battle with another warrior. When Duncan interferes with the melee, the villain escapes after wounding the warrior and seriously injuring Duncan. Duncan and the warrior Raytor are healed by a wizard and Duncan gains the friendship and alliance of the seasoned warrior who has much to gain from finding the same killer and helping Duncan on his quest - reclaiming the Kingdom his grandfather lost forty years before. But before he can realize his dream, he must first understand courage, fortitude, love and the meaning of a recurring vision of fire.
Set in a mystical time when the land was ruled by compassionate Kings and barbaric Tyrants, aided by wizards and giants and wrought with treachery and deceit, is a story of a young man’s will to accomplish his dead father’s destiny.
About the Author
Born in 1962, Claude was one of five children. His father was a high school theatre teacher, and his mother a geriatric nurse from Montreal. He had ventured toward the literary arts in high school and continued to pursue it as a hobby while he worked as a factory technician. Claude still works in plastic manufacturing in Eastern Ontario, where he lives with his wife of twelve years and his three daughters He publishes a local phenomenon newsletter there, dealing with local legends and ghosts. Ashes to Ashes is Claude’s first novel, written in 1993.
