About the Book

Psalm  is a novel that it is a product of the psychological and social constructs its time. Yet is, for all intents and purposes, a tragic love story. It is the story of a young writer (Psalm) who lives on in the afterlife.  An afterlife in which he must come to terms with his life on earth through artistic creation. To find absolution Psalm must write down all of his thoughts, fears, and loves in an honest fashion to find the purest moment of his life. Psalm is also the story about the plight of the degenerate romantic artist’s attempts to make sense of the modern world. One in which it is much easier to fall back than to move forward, to excuse your own inability to articulate a vision by never allowing yourself to escape from the past.

Drugs, sexuality, and the complexities of social interaction are all presented within the novel. Drugs as a metaphor for a crutch that is fundamentally broken so that it never lets ones own legs fully heal. Love becomes impossible to hold onto when emotional damage is not confronted on its own terms. And salvation is product of overcoming this emotional hurdle and realizing the beauty of life lived in the pursuit of beauty and truth.
