About the Book

Jim Stone, a retired military intelligence colonel and agent for International Intelligence is hired by Global Aid to investigate thefts of relief supplies to Russian cities where millions are starving.  An international crisis within the commonwealth of states and the growing threat of a revolution galvanizes the western nations to offer aid.  Corruption is rampant.  The thefts are resulting in spiraling prices for food and vital items.

Moscow is the scene.  Jim and his wife work as a team to unravel the mystery.  The blackmarket ring brings in some surprises to the tumult that develops.  Jim finds high officials involved.  Action, explosions, shootouts with former KGB, and with army generals, resulting in some surprising twists and turns.  President Alex of Russia is saved from assassination.   A revolution is averted, the ringleaders in Russia are exposed as just the front of the giant movement, so Jim and his wife return to the States to find the real culprits.  With surprising twists, the results are fortunate for Jim and Inge.   Startling exposure of the real leaders, who did not want the cold war to end and wanted a return to a strong military buildup.  The shootout with the high ranking civilians and military leaves Jim wounded.  The FBI moved in to mop up the operation, and as a result they clear Jim of any crimes, and report to the president.  Jim and Inge received accolades from around the world and even the president sent best wishes to Jim recuperating in a hospital.  He had the offer of becoming a roving ambassador and messenger of peace and democracy around the world.
