Wanda Ketchum faces retirement at the end of this, her thirtieth year as an elementary school teacher. Deciding she needs a new focus for her life, she gets her best friend, Charlotte, to agree to help her find a man with whom she can build a future. In an effort to become more appealing to the opposite sex, Wanda vows to lose weight by eating healthier and exercising.
Meanwhile, Charlottes husband, Jack, explains to his friend, Justin Case, that he needs to improve his playboy image if he expects to be elected mayor in the upcoming election. His political advisers insist that during the campaign he must appear to be courting a woman with a flawless reputation.
