About the Book

Kate Reynolds (Spillane - Weller) began a love affair with writing many years ago with enigmatic poetry and journalism in her high school years at Mt. St. Mary’s Academy in N. Plainfield, New Jersey. After graduating with a B.A. in English from Chestnut Hill College outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1969, she worked for several years in television production in Manhattan with CBS Enterprises, Viacom, The Dick Cavett Show, Jack Parr Productions, and Marlo Thomas while filming her television special, “Free to be You and Me”. Life continued to churn as she married, traveled often to Europe with her successful yacht broker husband, John Weller, and daughter Clancy, and did the most important “job” of her life –– raising her delightful daughter. Her writing muse lay dormant, but her creativity did not. She kept active with many creative outlets - namely a shell/ribbon jewelry making company - Cordon Cay - which she dearly loved doing while recovering from a lengthy back fusion surgery. Many of the shells she had collected over the years while snorkeling (Kate has an affinity with the sea) off the clear waters of the Abacos, Bahamas. Her first book, The Time Marches On Dog Book was inspired by her café au lait female Miniature French Poodle puppy, Dr. Sam, whom she bought in Nov., 2007. They continue to share their times together happily in Palm City, Florida. Kate’s daughter, Clancy Weller is now a charter broker with Neptune Group Yachting in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Kate’s business ventures include a collaboration with the multi-talented Rachel Bost on a line of pet collars - Dr. Sam’s Creative Collars, a division of Arlee Bee. These adorable collars for dogs and cats are available at www.ArleeBee.com
