About the Book

Though the Party had defeated the Evil that once held sway over King Yddy's Castle, their adversary had made a successful escape, taking with him the mystery that was Aiden's Cauldron.  Through that adventure, each Party member had come to see InkleTum as a master of deceit, a skilled practitioner of the complex illusion whose magic was strong, surpassed only by a voracious appetite for what was not his. He thought himself eternal---and them as insignificant mortals, nothing more than flotsam cast inconsiderately in his way.  Yes, they had bested him once, but forces had effected his flight; forces, they had discovered, that demonstrated he was more than merely Evil  . . . He was the embodiment of Death itself.  And they were aware, too, that any pursuit to reclaim the cold-blue, granite crucible would take them through the Counterfeit Illusionist's own shadowy realm --- a realm of the Undead.  To defeat InkleTum this time, Klaigge, now known as Avenger; MayeTwist, the fiery Elven Warrior; Maali, the Caresmha Negotiator; Gnawgh, the sharp-eyed Scout; Monroe Tarbuck, the Master Tinker; and, finally, the enigmatic Holy Cleric, Sendraak the Wise, would need more than just courage and self-sacrifice. . . because this time, some terrors had to be faced . . . alone.  Yet, Klaigge and Sendraak knew he had to be stopped.  They, and the remainder of the Party, would have to follow him across strange worlds, and through measureless dimensions, risking their very lives---their very souls---to do what had to be done: find InkleTum and put an end to his vile unholiness for now and forever!  They would have to face him down once again --- in his own domain; a place, some fifty fathoms beneath the surface, that held more than just an inkling of a tomb.   Premature victory, they were about to discover, was exactly that: Premature!
