About the Author
Peter J. Nebergall, PhD, is an anthropologist and journalist. He has been a horse photographer, photojournalist, archaeologist, diabetes educator, mechanic, and replacement professor of anthropology. He has many publications, in the diabetes field, for military magazines, and in a number of academic journals. His HARD CORE: MARGINALIZED BY CHOICE was published 1997, and his first novel, THE COLOR OF HIS COAT, was published this year. VIOLENT SOCIETIES, his second textbook, deals with military anthropology, and is in press. SHEHARAZADE, a collection of stories and poetry, is in preparation. Two more novels are underway, also a book-length photoessay, OUTERLOPER. Like HARD CORE, GUERRILLA ANTHROPOLOGY is a work of ethnography. Where the first took a good look at Punks and their scene, this one takes a somewhat subversive, "punkish" look at the mainstream and its many hypocrisies and contradictions.
