About the Book
Tommy’s first day at school is a children’s book that was written as a result of a High school English assignment that was assigned to John Solomos who requested the help of his older sister to do his homework and they both ended up pulling an “all nighter” to get it done by the due date. After almost 2 decades, the authors decided to publish the book as it had been shared over the years within the family to children and after John started his own family and Alexandra had continued to play a role as the motivator in not only John’s life and the life of all those that would come to know her. They decided to publish this book as they noticed it was a metaphor for life. We all have resistance to change to the new and to the unknown. When we dive into the sandbox of life and decide to play that is when we start to build our sandcastles and layout the foundations for our dreams to become a reality. The pictures are the originals and the story is actually based on true events (John’s excuses when his mother was trying to get him to go to school). This book is a historical account of events, an educational tool, a life metaphor and an inspiration to press forward and to conquer all fears. This book will be enjoyed by teachers, students and parents for years to come. An uplifting inspirational true story and is an easy book to read and understand. Everyone loves a fantastic story and that is exactly what this is! A book like this needed to be written, thank you Alexandra and John!
