About the Book

Something is creeping into the Internet and it is looking for Richard Nixon.

In an alternate universe just slightly different from our own, Richard Milhouse Nixon has been re-elected President of the United States. The strange part is, the 91 year old Nixon was in a coma through the election, and remains so for the first two years of his term.

In 2006, drug therapy awakens him -- and rejuvenates him to the age of 23. He quickly finds that there is not much left of the United States government, and that much of the population has migrated into space in homemade spacecraft. Nixon's paranoia has survived the coma; he decides that there is a deliberate attempt by the space-dwelling, technopagan culture to economically deplete and conquer America. He rallies the pitiful remains of the military-industrial complex behind him and sets off to bring the U.S.A. back to power, declaring war on the spacers.

One of Nixon’s biggest obstacles is a global computer network that is behaving very strangely. The ‘net  seems to be infected with some kind of decay, pernicious data errors called "breaks." The breaks seem to be pursuing Nixon, and spacer computer experts are pursuing the breaks. One of these spacers, Primordial Stu, begins to put together some coincidences concerning the breaks, Nixon, the origins of the rejuvenation drug, and the people who may be responsible for Nixon's re-election and rejuvenation.

Wildy funny, strangely compelling, and highly experimental, BREAKS takes the reader on a mind-bending ride through provocative probabilities, alien alternatives, and psychedelic speculation. Don your virtual reality headset and step into a universe where history heads for the hysterical and the future floats toward the fantastic!
