About the Book

Head of a failing business, owner Dexter Morris has spent an

unsuccessful week on Petit St. Vincent, a hideaway resort in the Caribbean, to develop a revitalization plan.  Ready to return home, Morris inadvertently hears bits and pieces of a conversation between one of the guests, later identified as a very important U.S. Senator, and a visitor.  Pieced together, the conversation seems to involve a plan to overthrow the U.S. government.  Stunned, Morris returns to Pasadena and immediately visits the head of the FBI in Los Angeles.

During Morris's visit, the FBI runs a quick check on the Senator recent whereabouts.  Surprisingly, the Senator was reported as being at his Maryland retreat with cronies, planning his re-election campaign.  Morris, unsure what to do after his FBI visit, phones the assistant manager at Petit St. Vincent.  The manager's response makes it clear that someone has gotten to him and he has been told to keep his mouth shut.

Very disturbed by the turn of events, Morris is extremely hesitant about contacting anyone in the government, since it appears the FBI is involved.   After much soul searching, he decides to contact the Producer of Perspective, a highly regarded, top-rated, weekly TV editorial hour on WBS, the World Broadcasting System.  The Producer, Tracy Stevens, is a poised, impressive, and highly acclaimed TV executive who quickly acquaints Morris with the fact that he is out of his league and in deep trouble.  However, she agrees to look into his allegations and suggests Morris come to Washington, DC, for an interview.

Subsequently Morris is attacked in his company's parking lot, drugs are planted in his apartment, and the FBI turns up with a warrant to search his premises.  Running seems his only option.  Morris decides to head for Washington, DC, and take advantage of the offered TV interview on WBS.  Going by train, in an effort to keep out of sight, he is attacked.  With amateurish luck, Morris manages to overcome his assailant whom he accidentally kills.  Now in even deeper trouble, Morris decides on the spur of the moment to assume the identity of his assailant.

This is only the beginning of Morris's troubles which lead him through corridors of deceit at the highest levels in Washington.  Fast paced, the action never stops until a very unexpected and surprising ending unfolds.
