Ron Dwelle is a life-long sailor who devotes most of his summers to cruising aboard his sailboat on the Great Lakes. In the “off-season,” he is a teacher, editor, and writer who makes his home in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He teaches writing at Grand Valley State University. As a writer, he is a frequent contributor to the major sailing magazines and has served as editor for Practical Sailor and Crusing World. Currently, he edits The Great Lakes Port Pilot and Log Book, published annually by the Great Lakes Cruising Club. With him on his summer cruises are his wife, Jo; his two children—Anna and Chase; and his Siamese cat, Willow.
