About the Book

In “River of Dreams,” a mysterious explosion threatens unleash a secret that would tip the balance of power in the galaxy. Winston O’Neal and Cham T’Baal, an aging war hero from another race, are sent as part of a covert task force to ensure that secret doesn’t fall into the wrong hands. But their mission is doomed from the start by shadowy forces within their own group as well as without. Finding themselves stranded on quarantined planet, they must confront political and personal turmoils, while, Cham, plagued by the mistakes of his past, must face the very people he wronged years ago.

“River of Dreams” is science fantasy in the tradition of Robert Heinlein’s early juvenileoriented works, such as “Have Spacesuit, Will Travel” and “Starship Troopers,” but it also contains some surreal and magic realist influences. But in the end, it is a story of two men trying to discover themselves in world that is constantly changing and never really what it appears to be.

About the Author

After years as a newspaper reporter, Dan R. Arman quit his job to pursue his dreams of a writing career- well, almost. He, if fact, lives in Kent, Ohio, and is an editor for an Internet firm. He has published two short stories. “River of Dreams” is his first novel.
