About the Book
Unusual settings, man’s love for a woman or a woman’s love for a man, nostalgic memories of times when love was at its greatest intensity. The need of each individual to find the ancient power that love gives us to endure hardship and loneliness. These short tales of people who are just finding their first love, who are looking for it again after losing it, or who are just trying to cope with a life living without it are meant to show the unlimited capacity man has for trying to make his short stay in life as satisfying as possible. Each story is easily read in its entirety while lying in a warm bed just before turning off the light for the day. Take One At Bedtime was an alternative title I considered, and each story is a pleasant way to end one’s day. You’ll find a little twist on the tail of each story that may make the telling a bit more interesting and make you wonder what the next tale may do to lead you off the garden path and into a bramble of emotional enjoyment. Read each carefully, for they are yourselves reflected there. There is nothing profound or earth shaking about these small glimpses of life, but they may show you a truth about yourself you haven’t seen before, or have forgotten.
