About the Book

Balaza must choose between two worlds in Uganda.  The world of sin or the world of life in Christ.  But temptations never stop for the man who chooses to serve Christ.  Will Balaza’s faith stand through temptation, scandal and suffering?

In this book you’ll find both an inspiring novel and Bible studies to encourage your faith and help you preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

This book was written for the Basoga people of Uganda so they can see their lives in Balaza’s life, feel his temptations, mourn his failures, laugh at his predicaments, and learn from his faith and mistakes.  In addition to the story, Bible studies in this book provide a reference for Africans who lack opportunities to get education and Bible teaching.

Even if you’ve never visited Uganda or the continent of Africa, you’ll be inspired by this story, which paints a picture of what village life in Uganda is like today.

This story is about a Ugandan man, Balaza, who must learn that he is responsible for the wrongs in his life.  He can’t blame someone else.  Like many African men, he blames one of his two wives for not bearing him a son.  He wants to blame his place in life on his father, who rejected him at a young age.

But Balaza must walk through fire to learn that he must take the blame for sin in his life.  He must seek out his savior.  He must be a leader in his family.

The following excerpt tells the story of one of scandalous and terrifying moments in Balaza’s life in rural Uganda.
