About the Book
To solve America´s problems -- homelessness, pollution, racism, urban sprawl, etc., -- liberals assume that solutions will come from government, while conservatives insist that markets are more efficient. Of course there are self-described moderates who want government to work closely with private enterprises, but in practice the "third way" defaults to one of the first two or combines the worst attributes of both. Government policies vs. market policies; both consistently fail.
It´s time for "Citizen Policies." Healing Politics shows how We the People can heal our democracy and make government and private corporations serve our needs and interests. We the People can – at the same time, and by the same means – realize conservative hopes for smaller, less intrusive government and liberal desires for greater social and economic justice and equality.
