About the Book

Maggie Saunders’ three year old daughter, Amy, is snatched from her in a department store while on a Christmas shopping trip. Amy is driven across the country and sold to Chuck Zimmer, who owns a Los Angeles based adoption agency, by Johnnie McGuirk, a petty criminal ,who needs the money to pay for medical treatments that will prolong his son’s life and Frank Devlin, a disbarred attorney, who seeks to pay off a loan shark to save himself from a death sentence. Thirty-five years later the now retired detective on the case, Joe Flynn, discovers Maggie has become wealthy through her marriage to a high tech entrepreneur. He successfully extorts ten million dollars from her in exchange for revealing the whereabouts of her daughter that he obtains by shaking down Johnnie McGuirk for a murder rap. After the reunion of mother and daughter Johnnie helps Maggie wreak her own unique vengeance on both Joe Flynn and the owner of the adoption agency.

About the Author

Blaine Stone has a BA in English and Philosophy from Boston College. He attended the MA program in English literature at the University of Iowa. This is his third novel.
