About the Book

It is mid-winter and once he has found his way to the cabin and settled in, the storms come. He can see the ice spreading on the lake. He can see the snow piling up. He can feel the wind and taste the cold. He has not come to this cabin for a vacation. He has come to fight a battle with himself, just as crazy as any Custer; he has come to discover and claim his West, just as desperate as any Lewis or Clark. A Western Story is the frenzied chronicle of these battles and these discoveries.
