About the Book

"Days of the Messiah" delimits an ideological framework that confuses modern Middle Eastern historical events with Biblical images and apocalyptic prophecies.  Pharaoh is a novel that examines the roots of the "Days of the Messiah" outlook and its antagonism to the Middle East peace process.   The events of the novel lead a female American journalist on a journey that bridges Biblical and modern histories, and blends spiritual and physical boundaries.  It is a journey to save the fragile Middle East peace that thrusts the journalist into confrontations with apocalyptic Christians, Messianic Orthodox Jews, an ancient Egyptian revivalist movement and Moslem fundamentalists.  Challenged by Middle Eastern mysticism, cultural divisions and political intricacies, she is torn by the demands of logic and irrationality, doubt and self-affirmation, dogmatism and spirituality, and love and war.
