About the Book

Rosie Kelly and Ellen Kerry are two secretaries in the law firm of Peterson, Wagner, and Eibert.  In spite of their inexperience in the nasty world of embezzlement, drug king-pins, and murder, they become involved in a major crime in which their firm is deeply involved.   They delve into the finances of their firm and the holdings of an eccentric old lady Ellen has befriended and who always wears lavender.  Her former business as the madam of a whorehouse was profitable and well invested. She has become very rich and finally respectable. The bank she owns is laundering money, though she is unaware of this.  A lawyer in the firm, Hal Lesky, is a part of that scheme. Douglas Dinkey, the bank accountant is funneling the money to a Columbian drug kingpin.  Rosie and Ellen make some startling discoveries that help solve the crime.  After a few hair-raising events, they escape with their lives and help put the wrong-doers behind bars or in less fortunate circumstances.  Finally, they can fulfill their dream of becoming private detectives.
