About the Book

In LIGHTS ALONG THE WAY: A THERAPIST’S REFLECTIONS ON LIFE, the Rev. Dr. Robert E. Buxbaum shares his understanding of the life process based upon a career of more than 30 years as a therapist and family counselor. Often using his own life experience to provide illustration, the author explores family relationships, parenting issues, rites of passage, and mental health concerns by means of brief reflective essays that shed light on the stages of our life journeys. The author writes about the often neglected but deeply felt human experiences of uncertainty, loneliness, and loss, and invites the reader to experience their own feelings without guilt or apprehension.
