Written as the memoirs of Dr. Rose L. Tse, "The Gift of Ah Marr," tells of her life growing up in China prior to Communist rule, her escape to the US to study just before it fell into communist hands, and her accomplishments in academia at Mt. Holyoke, Yale, the Medical College of Pennsylvania, and later as professor of medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and the Medical College of Pennsylvania. It also tells about her love for the family she had left behind, her success in bringing them to America and how she helped them assimilate into this culture.
