About the Author

Lisa Melinda Riley was born in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1977, to adoptive parents James Edward, and Virginia Nell McCorkle. Lisa was the youngest among six siblings, one of which passed away at birth. After her parents separated when she was six years of age, she was raised by her mother. Her father James Edward later fathered her half sister when Lisa was in her late teens. Her mother later remarried, to Billie Morgan Abbott, who helped her mother raise her.
