About the Book
In today’s world, there is a confusion about who a Christian is even among those who claim to be Christians. There is a maximization of religion and a minimization of the life of Christ. There is need to give a definition of Christianity that is relevant to the people of the 21st Century. Another relevant term to define is what Christianity is in the first place. Fortunately, the Bible is not silent about these definitions. In this text, Christianity, the Christian and the world have been defined so that any Christian or non-Christian will understand what these terms mean. Important to this text is the question “Are there Christians in this World?” This question is relevant because, presently, Christians, especially in the West, seem to lack impact in every realm of society. What is it that makes Christians so out of dominance instead of being so dominant? Why are Christians not answering the questions of today’s world enthusiastically? Early Christianity was a movement. The adherents presented the gospel as God’s answer to humanity’s problems, and they were proud of it. Today, the saints of God hide when the world needs answers. Are there simple solutions everyone can follow? This text insists that those who must be Christians in this present age and other ages to come must be disciples. Merely being converted and living as a convert or a baby Christian would not do. The problem with being or remaining a baby is that a baby will act like a baby even if the baby has been a baby for forty years. Discipleship, rather, is the process of turning Christian babies into responsible, reproductive, Christian adults able to multiply themselves in a perverted world. Disciples of Jesus Christ are those who have a supreme love for Christ, have a surrendered will, have denied themselves, have carried their cross, are following Christ daily, have counted the cost, have forsaken all, are continuing in the Word of God without compromise, are loving towards other Christians, are witnesses of Christ to the ends of the earth, are bearing much fruit, and are making disciples of all nations. They are willing to suffer for Christ, and rejoice doing so. This text has done the thorough job of explaining what it means to be disciples, how one can live as a disciple, and how to help make disciples of others. It is transforming to read it especially when we do so prayerfully. These days the whole creations are awaiting the manifestations of the sons of God. God is rebuilding His church so that He can work through His church to disciple all nations for Christ. This is no time for sitting on the fence. All selfishness must cease. Jesus Christ must be enthroned King and Lord of our lives. He wants to work in us so that He can work through us. These are the days of the sons of God. This text opens the door for all Christians to begin the journey of discipleship in the present world. Because discipleship never ends, the book stays with us as we continue the daily journey of living according to God’s will.
