About the Author

After 20 years as a writer and foreign correspondent for CBS News in Asia, Africa and South America. I left to write Jerry McAuley and His Mission. I then joined NBC News for 20 years as a writer and producer. Among other things, I was Associate Producer of “A Tour of the White House with Mrs John F. Kennedy. In 1984, I became a special correspondent for the New York Times in Afghanistan and documented this in a book, Among the Afghans. I have also published books on India, the Chinese in New York and the evangelical awakening among the indigenous people of Chiapas, Mexico.
