About the Book
What does a man do when he loses his memory? Tall Rewster, also known as Wil Dyhardy, was such a man. There was no past to think about - no future to move on to. Tall lived in the present, doing whatever life brought him.
An evil act caused by a friend or foe changed his life. The burning bullet fired from ambush striked his head, erasing the pages of his existence. It also marked him with a streak of white hair across the top of his head. Rewster didn’t perish as the shooter schemed. But destiny has a tendency of working itself around. What would the antagonist action be if he should meet Tall Rewster face to face?
Tall Rewster's best ability is his sharpshooting skills. The town folks not caring about his background is hired as a lawman. But his destiny takes a turn for the worse. Tall is forced into a life of piracy. In his wayward life he becomes known as Wil Dyhardy.
Before sailing the high seas, Rewster was the Sheriff of Clovis, New Mexico Territory. Can he work himself back to those days or will he prefer his new life as a buccaneer?
Rewster’s life is confusing. Local folks judged him to be a gunfighter because of his skillful shooting and quick draw. Others know him to be a pirate. Outsiders consider him a saddle bum.
But one person looks at him different. Jolina Romero stopped in her tracks as she watched Tall Rewster. She felt her heart moved onto her throat as she took him to be her lost lover, Stacy Blazes. Her emotions grew warmed with the thought that it was him. Tall's likeness, to the sweetheart of her youth, was written all over him. Even though she knew she should leave well enough alone, she had to find out. Still, she feared to think that this rugged gunman might be her sweet and gentle Stacy.
The Blazes brothers, Stacy and Martin, are enjoying a peaceful train ride and talking about the new breed of cattle they are to buy. But a well-thought robbery scheme changes their plans. After that, one brother disappears while the other one goes on with his life.
Destiny begins to excite strange feelings in Tall and Jolina's life as she starts the wheels turning. She is determined to find out what happened to her Stacy and the mystery surrounding his disappearance. Jolina's heart glowed with thoughts of the past - though she now belonged to Martin - his brother.
Martin and Jolina conceal a deep secret to live happily ever after. Do they plan to keep the secret - a secret, forever? Possible, but if fate has a motion to change a quiet lifetime - it will.
Mal Hierba, the Spanish vaquero and gunman, aids Taho, the prospector, in the search for his daughter, Marti-Ann. Often, Mal is just a moment away from the chieftain outlaw that kidnaped her. However, the coy renegade keeps a step ahead of him. Though lady luck has not been kind to Mal, still, he has faith that some day he will find her.
The reckless Hierba will unknownly bring Tall Rewster back to his roots. That is if Tall recognizes the woman in his dreams that stands before him. What will happen - will only be a matter of guessing.
Tynis Leatherwood, the young southern girl, is bewildered on learning Tall’s real past. If Tall’s memory recalls the reflections of his younger days, Ty’s fears the man she loves may soon be drawn away from her. Her anxiety builds up and she dreads the thought of it. What can she do to prevent this? Nada!
