About the Book

The Spanish Inquisition was introduced to Spain in 1480 in Seville. Thus began more than 300 years of imprisonment, torture and death by burning for a number of Spaniards. The plight of the descendants of the victims of the Holy Tribunal is described as they fled from Spain.

Adjoining Spain, Portugal received some of the fleeing refugees. This tiny nation had grown to be a famous nation of exploration. Vasco Da Gama and Prince Henry the Navigator were two famous men from Portugal who contributed to those seeking their fortune in the new lands of the world.
