About the Book

Anne L. Fox’s account of the pets in her family’s life is a fun read for anyone who ever petted a cat or threw a ball to a dog. The story parallels Anne’s travel to England in order to escape the Nazi Holocaust, her eventual settlement in America and focuses on the various pets that comforted her throughout the years. The pages are filled with the ordinary and the extraordinary personalities that became a part of the fabric of her life as she and her family played host to dogs, cats, fish, a rooster and other living creatures.

About the Author

Anne L. Fox is an author and a columnist. At the age of twelve and in danger from the Nazis she left Germany with the British-sponsored Kindertransport. Unable to contact her family, she spent the war years living with British people. After the war she learned that her parents had not survived. Following VE day she met an American soldier whom she married and whom she eventually rejoined in America. A love of all creatures always permeated her home and family and she passed on that love and caring to her children and grandchildren.
