Being a kid can be hard sometimes. Our bodies and minds go through many changes throughout the years. But, did you know that caterpillars also go through a magnificent change? It is called metamorphosis. When caterpillars are ready, they change into brilliantly colored butterflies and live that way for the rest of their lives. Take a journey with the busy, busy caterpillar as he makes new friends and makes a marvelous change called metamorphosis.

About the Author

The Busy, Busy Caterpillar is the first children’ book written by Mindi Vandagriff. The story was originally a project for a college class. The inspiration for the book came from a science course for teachers during a discussion about the metamorphosis of a caterpillar. She decided to do her own research and found many interesting facts about metamorphosis. Her research turned into a rhyming and counting story for elementary aged children. When she was finished with the project, she was so pleased with the way that the story and pictures turned out, that she wanted to share it with many other people, especially children. Mindi is a graduate from the University of Texas at Dallas with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in Education. Mindi, her husband, Jeremy and two sons live in the Dallas area. They enjoy playing and watching sports and reading together. Mindi is an elementary teacher in an area school district.
