This work, Sacred Places, Private Thoughts uses the contrast of beautiful pictures of nature (and a few surprises) to present reflections that are a variety of emotions and thoughts, just as we see our own lives, an ever changing canvas.

About the Author

Valerie Arena enjoys photographing nature and pets and has been writing poetry for over 20 years. She currently works as a computer science teacher in grades PreK-8th and is also a professor for NAU. Ms. Arena is a mother of two adventurous children. Currently she is working on a novel, a woman’s expose of emotion, tragedy and triumph which is a blend of real life and fiction.
