About the Book

This book is a personal account of how the Panama Canal and its history affected the lives of the author's family. Between 1953 and 1957, Dr. Avery P. King (the author's grandfather) and his family lived on Ancon Hill in the Panama Canal Zone. This book is about that time and how the history of the region affected the family. It is intended for a younger audience. Most of the photographs in this book are from The King Family Album and King Family collection.
