About the Book
If you enjoy reading books by Maeve Binchy, Rosamunde Pilcher, Jan Karon, and Dora Saint (my favorite authors), then you’re sure to enjoy meeting the folks in Welcome Valley and living with them for a time. Go with Jonathan and Davy Walker as they move there, after the death of their parents, to make a new home for themselves. They asked for God’s guidance and feel it is just the place for them. It is beautiful country and the people are friendly, interesting, and inviting, even old grouchy Gus. Soon after their arrival, Jonathan meets the girl of his dreams and falls head over heels in love with her. Spend a few hours reading about the lovable characters in a slower, quieter, more peaceful time going back 50 plus years before video games, cell phones, and .com. I guarantee you’ll come away with a smile on your face, more faith in your fellowman, and a renewed feeling that God is good and we are blessed.
About the Author
I was born in E1kin long called thc best little town in North Carolina, by its residents. After graduation and marriage to Beauford Fowler, we have spent most of our 50 pIus years of married life in Winston-Salem. We have two sons, two daughters, and four fine grandsons. With this book, I hope to remind people of God’s goodness to us, to encourage caring and kindness and appreciation for the simple things of life. And to again enjoy the thrill of romance and young love.
