About the Book
Six young African American girls aging from fourteen to seventeen growing up in Dallas, Texas draw closer together as more than friends, but as sisters. They are brought together through circumstances and a joy for singing, in church and school. “We Come this Far by Faith” a song that sounds so sweet with a strong message, and a heart that is the spirit. A secret of molestation and rape; of abandonment and neglect plagues the city of Dallas and no one will never be the same. In Life friends come and friends move on, and then there are friends that become family. Together with my Sisters hand and hand His Blessings to Command.
About the Author
I was born March tenth nineteen seventy in Dallas, Texas to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ray Waters. I was the first of three children. Early on I was fascinated with the arts. I enjoyed drawing and singing, as much as I loved writing poetry, short stories, and Shakespeare. I have written and published three poems for the American Poet Society. My parents encouraged me time and time again to keep writing. I practiced writing from then on from morning until night. From the grade school newspaper to the high school art club, and journalism class. God has given me a gift that creates imagination and inspiration.
