About the Author

Renate was born in Weinheim, Germany. She came to the United States at the age of six and entered first grade not able to speak a word of English. Out of necessity she quickly learned the English language. Her passion for writting however; was not kindled until she decided to go back to school to be a nurse and took a mandatory English writing course. Renate lives in the small village of Ercildoun, Pennsylvania, nestled between horse farms and rolling hills, with her husband Merritt and their dog Tess.
