About the Book

The voice of the community of Imam W. Deen Mohammed, in many ways, is a sleeping giant, a movement yet to fully awaken and arrive on the stage of American social discourse. Q. Dawuud Grey, the Internet Reporter, is among the too few journalists seeking to capture the true essence of this important movement that is behind the personality of America’s late Great Imam. About the Author

Qasim Daawud Grey was born and raised in New York City. Mr. Grey was a follower of black, reformist-leader Elijah Muhammad and his son - the orthodox, Imam Wallace D. Mohammed. After joining the Nation of Islam in 1974, Mr. Grey wrote for the Harlem mosque's "7 0n 7" newsletter. Afterward, he wrote, edited and helped published The Ambassador, a citywide Islamic newsletter. Mr. Grey is a contributing writer to the group's weekly newspaper, Muslim Journal, and helped establish its distributorship in the NYC subway system. Currently, he is a social worker. On Feb. 26, 1975, IWDM, as leader, ushered in a new era of Islamic thinking. He died on Sept. 9, 2008 but Mr. Grey remains a devoted student.
