About the Book

This little book contains ten stories designed to activate your funny bone. Each story begins with a delightful full page color drawing which hints at the theme of the story followed by the two-page story itself- omitting the last line. The reader should pause to puzzle out the missing words. Success gives a boost to the ego; failure summons the next page which features another drawing portraying the missing line and the line itself drawn from a well-known story or song lyric. A "Why didn't I get that?" and a loud guffaw from the reader follow.

About the Author

Now 91 years old I am the proud father of three adult children and two delightful granddaughters. All of them enjoy this little book more than they relish the shelf full of scholarly works I wrote as a professor at Pittsburgh's Carnegie Mellon University. So do I. Who knows where my teachers at the College of Wooster and Harvard would fall along this continuum? Instead of worrying about my conundrum I spend my time gardening, fishing, consorting with family, friends and hangers-about and writing additional unscholarly books.
