About the Book

Amy had always wondered what it would be like to visit her Mom and Grandma’s homeland. She had heard of her distant relatives, the place which was considered a majestic paradise and the strange folklore of a “witch” who eliminated her husband. More than all, she not only wanted to see but taste the rich, exotic food that had many times graced her table and been prepared by her Grandma Una. Amy longed to bask in the music that so often called her Mom and Grandma Una.

About the Author

Arlene Crawford is the author of A Visit from Grandma. She has been an educator for the past 32 years. She is an adjunct professor at Monroe College Bronx/New Rochelle and Westchester Community CoIlege Valhalla, New York. She is an avid reader who enjoys traveling to distant lands. Arlene was born in Jamaica W.I. but currently resides in the Bronx. Amaris Crawford is a writer, poet and entrepreneur. She is the co-author of A Visit from Grandma and the Founder of THerəpç, a unique women's image consulting and styling company (www.therapybyAmaris.com). As a young child, she developed a passion for writing because of the short-stories that she read at her local library and she was inspired by the oral poetry that her mother would recite to her in their apartment in the Bronx. By age 10, Amaris began to write her own poems and was published in her first anthology. Amaris currently lives and works in Chicago, IL where she continues to write creatively.
