About the Book

In the idyllic life of the Albergo Torino that has always surrounded him, Vincent Soldati near his tenth birthday, is about to accompany his father on one of his business trips to Italy, long promised and long dreamed of. But on the eve of departure he is stricken with an unaccountable illness. Bruno Soldati, his father, is forced to go alone on a later flight. The plane crashes in the North Atlantic with no survivors. The resulting traumatic shock is reflected in abnormalities that lead him to questio his sanity, his perception of the real and unreal, of right and wrong. The obsessive drive to find a way back to the albergo, realistically or even metaphorically and the persistent question: is all predestined? Coincidental? All chance? The question in the end is answered with a question.
