Lightening flashes! Thunder crashes! Ted is shaking in terror of the thunderstorm. Little Jim comes running in fear to join his big brother. “Oh, no!” Jimmy’s teddy was left behind and “must be scared!” cries Little Jim. There would be no peace until Teddy was found. When Ted, Little Jim and Teddy are snuggled-in as the storm moves on, Little Jim asks his brother about bravery.
Lightening and crashing thunder are a startling experience for almost any age. In the story of THE THUNDERSTORM, two mice-brothers are handling their fears in their own way. Little Jim shows his admiration and recognition of his brother’s bravery in this experience. Little Jim wonders if he will EVER get brave.
About the Author
Author, Joyce Jacobs, is an artist and writer who has done freelance work over the duration of the span of years involved in raising a family of five children. Childhood is a time full of experiences and resolutions. These provide a wealth of material to write about. Joyce says she was initially drawn to children’s books through her exposure to the wealth of artistic expression to be found in them. Having an artistic-leaning, she began to work up drawings for a few story ideas. Joyce was born in Harrisonville, Missouri, raised in Colorado, and now resides in Shallotte, North Carolina with her husband and youngest son. She is also working on a novel.
