This novel highlights the conflict between Islam and the West. Mountains of Afghanistan, Spring 89. A group of Mojahedeen climbs the mountains after a raid against Soviet convoys. Timour, a volunteer from Chechnya, is among them. The Russians attack. Timour and the entire village are destroyed by a powerful new “vacuum” bomb. In New Mexico, a new super explosive is accidentally discovered by scientists and readily stolen. One of the discoverers, Jean-Claude Delvaux, is sent to Russia and the Middle East to retrieve it. There, he is caught in a whirlwind of love, war, intrigue, and betrayal.


About the Author

Marc André Meyers was born in the town of Monlevade, Brazil and raised in South America and Europe. He is the author of several technical books, two hundred research papers, and a book of poetry (Abscission/Implosion). His area of expertise is Mechanical and Materials Engineering, and he has specialized in the response of materials and structures to explosives and impact. He has used his personal experience to write a riveting novel highlighting the conflict between Islam and the West. He is a professor at the University of California, San Diego. His hobbies include jogging, kayaking, and swimming.
