About the Book

"Ken Kavanaugh captures a wonderful son-father relationship. In recalling the extraordinary life of a football icon and war hero, Ken Jr. digs deep into his father's past that not only helped mold the game we know today, but also our society. Enjoy. I have."

Frank Gifford, New York Giants All Pro halfback, NFL Hall of Fame member, and broadcaster

"I could not have had a better passing coach than Ken Kavanaugh. He was a very creative genius and was always able to exploit the weaknesses of our opponents' defense. Ken was not only a great coach, but also a very good friend and he, like me, loved the passing game.

Y.A. Tittle, New York Giants All Pro quarterback, and NFL Hall of Fame member

"Our relationship with Ken Kavanaugh was that of a blazing star and star struck fans. Over and above his football prowess, we delighted in his beautiful smile and friendly hello. He is a credit to the National Football League, the Chicago Bears, and America for whom he fought with gallantry. We salute him!

Virginia and Ed McCaskey, Owners, the Chicago Bears.

"During our forty-five years together in the NFL, Ken Kavanaugh and I have become best friends. Together we have lived through some unforgettable adventures, and Ken Jr. tells the inside story in this biography about his father.

Rosie Brown, New York Giants All Pro tackle, NFL Hall of Fame member and Giants scout.

"Oh hell, yeah! Ken was our pilot, he was good. He had nerves of steel."

Ed Yuschak, Sergeant, US Air Force (retired), WWII B-17 top turret gunner.

"What a reading experience this is. Ken Kavanaugh is a decorated pilot, a record setting receiver, and he and I coached the Giants together for ten eventful years of the forty years we have been close friends." Allie Sherman, New York Giants head coach 1961-1968, sportscaster.
