About the Book

Forming the cornerstone of the 115 poems, written with the rigor of rhyme, is the poet’s uncommon insight into the human psyche, society’s mores, and polities. The author’s wide-ranging, worldly experiences enrich the reader with the poems Ode to the East, Palu, and the Mustang and his Master. His intellectual vigor rewards the reader’s capacity to tussle with the sonnets Ex Natura Rei and Power Disguised. The poet’s sensitivity blossoms in poems of nature’s radiance, animals’ angelic spirits, and the soul. Each poem promises to reach a special place within the plethora of human emotion. Christoff posits that virtue’s greatest lie is the belief that humanity has reached the pinnacle of technology, and simultaneously, has acquired the blessings of supernal love. Instead, we find ourselves beset with the phantom of terrorism that seeks to obliterate our lives and liberties. Christoff hopes that poetry will bridge the gap between the reality of everyday living and the essence of the spirit.
