About the Book

A gripping combination of history, tragedy and horror, this novel by Rebecca Grayson is based on truth - the life story of a man convicted of killing his family in Texas in 1926, and sentenced to die in the electric chair. Beyond the ten bodies discovered in a root cellar on Christmas Eve, he confessed to at least three prior murders.

Filled with richly drawn and ultimately heartbreaking characters, LIAR is the saga of a man hardened by abuse and brutality, who killed to protect himself without a single thought of the consequences of his actions. It is about a way of life, broken promises, prejudice, and betrayal.

A fresh approach to the True Crime genre, LIAR is an extraordinary reading experience.

About the Author

Rebecca Grayson is a published poet and songwriter from Austin, Texas. LIAR is her first novel. She raised her family of four daughters and when they were grown, twenty years of extensive research became this novel. Everyone has a boogieman somewhere in his or her life. Jeff Bryce was Rebecca’s. A child cannot comprehend grownup things, most of all, a father slaughtering his family. A photograph of the Bryce family’s unsmiling faces on the front page of a yellow, crumbling newspaper, began her life’s work on this fictional account of a true story.
