About the Book

The angst of the depression, personal tragedies of World War II, challenges of the post-war recovery and other events that transformed this nation during the 20th century are interwoven throughout this personal memoir. Chilton Street explores the life and feelings of a boy and then of a man who enlisted in the Navy, worked for an education, completed a fulfilling corporate career, and received joy and inspiration from his loving family and from his church. This story is about a bountiful yet ordinary life in extraordinary times.

About the Author

Bill Potts was born in Medford, New Jersey in 1889 and received a degree in Electrical Engineering from Drexel Institute. He was a loving father and husband, and he was an active Christian and participant in the Presbyterian church in Baltimore. For a time during the Great Depression, he was unemployed yet he never failed to share his faith, values and humor with his family. His elder son was killed in action during World War II, and in the years of grieving, he turned to writing inspirational works about his faith and about practical living.
