About the Book

Between age 14 and 21, Jamie Krycek lived a collective four years in psychiatric wards and institutions, but this book is only partly about her past. Written in the weeks after the sudden impacts of September 11, 2001, roughly half its pages chronicle personal, sometimes satirical, often emotional reactions to the unthinkable, brand new state of our planet. Her segmented writing style is an unavoidable byproduct of how her mind operates, making the book´s format hard to imagine.

About the Author

Since age 14, Jamie Krycek has been tagged with eight or nine psychiatric diagnoses- mood disorders, psychotic disorders, personality and identity disorders, post traumatic stress disorder, dissociative disorders- all accurate, though only in part. After 22 years of agonizing, wide-awake self-surgery, on her body, mind, heart and soul, with what felt like electric drills, industrial strength acid, broken glass and lightning strikes to the brain, most of those diagnoses are no longer accurate, not even in part.
