About the Book

It began as a dream of California sea and surf, when Kippy left for the teen vacation of a lifetime to spend the summer with her aunt on Malibu Beach. When her arrival fatefully leads her to a management job with the new popular band ROUX, she gets much more than fun in the sun. Her new job leaves her tangled in the tragic memories that linger throughout the majestic castle home of the lead singer, Cole. Kippy gets involved in a series of dangerous, ghostly twists that even the tough Missouri girl may not be able to escape!

About the Author

Queen of the Nerds is a fictional story inspired by real events of the author’s childhood. Jackie Newton resides near Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri where she performs as an entertainer of music and comedy. Jackie is also a retired reading specialist for grades 7-9 and a part-time instructor for State Fair College in Sedalia, Missouri. Her experiences and interactions with young people often become great links for ideas to include in her mystery, ghost and juvenile stories. Her travels provide exciting sources for her comic/developmental school assembly programs and writings. Ms. Newton’s books include: The Summer of Roux, A Friend from the Past, Queen of the Nerds and A New York Tumbleweed.
